I couldn't stop painting, I had to finish this bust.

Has been a real challenge and I've tried several different techniques, overall I'm really pleased with it.

This is a present for my brother who loves photography and Steve McCurry.

Hey Steve, if you read this post, I'll be happy to give you the figure if you let my brother join one of your workshop in return!! ;-)

Ciao a tutti,

I'm still painting this little beauty.

Not an easy task, and is getting more and more challenging, but I like it.

Anyway, I've touched up the skin tone, eyes and I've started the red.

I've used only 4 colours for it, and avoid any orange tone.

Also I wanted to give more of a dramatic tone to the whole figure therefore I used quite a bit of contrast.

Ciao a tutti,

I've started to paint this bust sculpted by Romain Van den Bogaert.

He has taken the inspiration from Sharbat Gula the famous Afghan girl photographed by Steve McCurry for National Geographic.

The sculpture is not a perfect portrait of the girl, but is close, I've manage to made few modifications, like hairs, the red cloth an the nose.


Not an easy piece to paint, so far only the face has been painted, and I've not finished yet, few touch ups need to be done.

Paint is still fresh hence the glossy on the lips and the difficulty of taking pictures...

For this reason I've taken a couple of shots with different light and camera settings.

Has been a while since I've posted something on my blog, but work, holidays and a long travel have led me away from modelling.

During the past months I've sculpted a figure (stay tuned) and I've painted this figure for a friend, is from La Meridian miniatures and has been sculpted by Pizzichemi.

The cast was good really few bubbles holes and cast seems, the mine handle a little bit to fragile, but an easy replacement with a bit of copper wire.

I've to thank my friend Alberto Cazzavillan for his help in finding the right documentation, thanks so much Alberto!!!

É con estremo orgoglio che vi comunico la conclusione della raccolta di beneficenza associata “a passione per la vita/passion for life” www.p4l.it.
Abbiamo distribuito tutti e 100 i soldatini e raccolto la ragguardevole cifra di 4066 euro che saranno consegnati in questi giorni.
Volevo esprimere a tutti voi il mio più profondo riconoscimento per la generosità e la sensibilità che avete dimostrato, soprattutto in questo momento non facile per l’economia che in maniera più o meno importante tocca tutti noi.
Spero di poter ripetere quest’iniziativa e sono certo che potrò contare nuovamente sul vostro enorme cuore.
